* Ono, mahi mahi, and ahi are plentiful in the waters off Oahu. To promote love of sport fishing, Waikiki Yacht Club anglers participate in two annual fishing tournaments with the club s close neighbor across the Ala Wai Boat Harbor, the Hawaii Yacht Club: Keiki Fishing Tournament and Goodwill Fishing Tournament.

The Keiki Fishing Tournament is a joy for all who participate, children and volunteers alike. Cosponsored by the Hawaii Yacht Club and the Waikiki Yacht Club, boaters from both clubs host children ages three to fifteen for a morning of fishing followed by an afternoon of swimming, games, and great food. Club membership is not required; and with a wide array of prizes and a long day of fun, every child is a winner.

As a boating neighbor of the Hawaii Yacht Club, Waikiki Yacht Club members volunteer their boats and time toward the success of the Goodwill Fishing Tournament. The Hawaii Yacht Club hosts the tournament for the Goodwill Industries of Hawaii to offer the thrills of boating and fishing to mentally and physically challenged youth from around Oahu. For these children a day of sun and sea happily transcends all obstacles.
